Congratulations on your purchase. My first experience with a Gator was a 4x6 many years ago. It was all boring - just delivering hay to horse pens on flat dry ground - but I've heard they are quite capable in the mire! Enjoy!

I have "Model = 6X4 Gator; Year = 1997; SN Range = W006X4X0022449 - 029012". I am pretty sure that my list has an extra "0" after the "6X4X" as there are too many digits and it doesn't match with the rest of my list. So I think it's safe to say you have a 1997.

Removal of flywheel, oil leaking from crank

Hello, I was hoping that maybe you could help me. I have a 96 Gator that appears to be leaking oil from behind the flywheel. Seems to be coming from the crankcase. Do you know if the seal there is replaceable without removing the engine from the vehicle? Is it pressed in place or held in place with some other method?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Couldn't seem to post a new message, even though I'm logged in.

Hello,
I just purchased three Gators. Can someone tell me; year/make/model of:
MOHXOPBO81647
MOHXOPB081649
MOHXOPBO81656.
Also, any clue why these aren't on any of the other links/lists to JD Gator SN?
Thanks,
4X4

Serial Help

I'm having the same issue here. I didn't purchase the Gator 4x2, but my neighbor says my daughter can use it any time she wants if I fix the brakes. I cannot find the serial# on the John Deere website, or google search, etc.

W004X2X050844

I know it's a gator 4x2, just need to know what year and model, should I need parts.

And, again, why are these numbers so difficult to localt with John Deere?

Hello 4x4,
don't know, but maybe the sign "MOH" is used for special costumers like the army. A pic may be helpful.

This are the sn for 4X2 2000 W004X2X048599 - 062730, using the serch function in the pdf here with the string W004X2X0. So the 4x2 was built in 2000.
