865r Has Arrived

865r has arrived. Iím exicited to start using it, but the dealer is installing the wireless controlled winch, work lights, brush guards, and other assorted fluff. I did drive it, and itís pretty damn niceĖas Long is you are not in a hurry Maybe a turbo (like captain Seabee) will be in the future, but I will have to wait till the paint loses itís shine at least
For running around the ranch, it will rarely see anything above 15 mph.
In general how has the cvt trannies, cv joints, and other drive train components held up in the XUVís? I know the Yanmar is solid at least!

Cattleboy: I have had an 835R for almost 2 months and nearly 1/2 that time has been watching it sit in the dealers shop. Serious leaks, doors whistle, windshield was recalled and replaced, the foam seals between the bed and frame in front of the rear tires will be destroyed when you wash it. There is a new recall for CV boot protectors....... My list goes on forever.

Really give it a solid going over BEFORE you take delivery. If yours is like mine you may want to reconsider.

I think Mother Deere released this model before they worked out the bugs, esp with the cab. My dealer (who I buy a lot of big farm equipment from) is telling me they have cab problems with every one they sold.

Hope your luck is better than mine.

With the extra weight and A/C, the little Yanmar will have plenty to do. I have the 855D with a turbo made by SCS Specialists. You can PM me if you want a pdf of the installation. I'd wouldn't presume the exhaust geometry is the same (could be). You'll find the turbo makes a huge difference with loads going up the hill. Check out my review if interested. Sad to hear of the 835R nightmare planedriver has. Hopefully yours is a brownie and not a lemon.

Finally got it home. Here are a couple pictures. Thanks to planedriver and xcopterdoc, I was able to get my dealer the info he needed to adjust the doors and fix the leaky door seal problem. Iím quite happy with it so far!

Cattleboy, appreciate it if you could post a pic of the engine compartment. I'd like to see if it's much different vs. the 855D.

Thanks. It appears to be the same as the 855D which is what I was hoping. I'm considering upgrading and was curious if the turbo kit would fit in. Looks good to go.

I had a glass windshield installed by my jd dealer. I do like the glass. Now i am considering a rear window to keep dirt out of the cab. I can not seem to find glass rear windows. Are they available.
