850i engine

own a 2016 850i with 100 hrs. yesterday motor started backfiring while spraying fencelines. By time I emptied tank, noticed a significant loss of power and backfiring much worse. Just changed oil and same fuel is being used in all mowers. Any ideas where to start?

Well not showing any codes , flashing wrench on dash. I would start with out listening to it see is it back firing out the exhaust. or intake, that will tell us what is happening. I would start double check you have clean good fuel. it is so easy to get water in fuel , the fuel now days picks up so much water with ethanol , even in the filter. will have a lot of water. Also make sure park brake is releasing or the brake switch ok may cause this. will start here !!!!

Thanks for all the suggestions to help. Finally tore enough of cage apart to change plugs, gas filter, and spark arrestor. Emptied old gas and replaced with new. Running much better but still less power than when new? Give it time.
