Briggs & Stratton Vanguard 16 or 18 HP?

I own a 2016 XUV 550 Gator. All literature I have read indicates it is powered by a 570 cc 16 horsepower Briggs & Stratton Vanguard engine.

However, when I look this engine up online to learn more about it, everything I’ve seen indicates it is actually 18 horsepower.

I’m just curious as to why this 2 hp discrepancy exists. I also wonder why John Deere would market this machine as a 550 and not a 570 like it actually is? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

Likely 18 as the 16hp version is a 497cc. Even the operator's manual says to get the specs for the B/S site. BTW JD does not do model numbers based on engine size. My 855D and 865R have the exact same engine.
