Leave motor running

If just doing some chores around the place, should I kill the motor or leave it running each time I stop temporarily? When I was young, it seems we were taught to keep diesel tractors running even if we'd be gone for quite some time.

Idling should be fine, just a reminder always place shifter in neutral while stopped, otherwise the CVT belt can be damaged.

Yes, but is it better to idle (and waste diesel but save starter and battery) or just kill it most stops?

Idling for less than 10-15 is probably okay, how long do your chores take? Do you live in a colder climate?
