No disrespect to any tech or mechanic that works on any kind of JD equipment. You guys have to keep track of So much stuff!
Some disrespect for JD parts though. When I bought the plow controller kit, I correctly hooked everything up, and found there was nowhere to connect the controller plug. The instructions said to plug it in, "right there on the dash, next to where you mounted the controller". Great, except there wasn't anything there at all.
Went to my friends at the local JD dealer. The parts guy didn't help, my sales guy couldn't help. Ultimately, one of the guys said, "you need one of these", giving me a copy from a parts page. It was a pigtail with one connector on one end, three on the other. I profusely thanked him and ordered the piece. Shouldn't this have come as part of the controller kit? Shrugs!
I get the part, and it has instructions: remove the top of the dash, and look right here, there's the connector the pigtail mates with. Well, it wasn't right there, and what was under the top of my dash didn't look anything like the picture in the instructions. Ultimately, I fished the connector out from the bottom of the dash. The connector did indeed make the plow pump run, and this set me off on the "banging plow when lowering" adventure.
All good now, though I haven't quite gotten it up yet to drill the hole in the dash "right next to where the controller mount is", right now it's all hanging below the dash, like so much spaghetti.
