Fuel pump failure 825i

This is the second fuel pump that has failed. Has anyone ever tried a an aftermarket inline fuel pump to replace the factory one.

While I have not tried an aftermarket pump, did you check the screen on the bottom of the pump?

Yes filter is fine. I have 2 825i the first one failed at about 30 hrs.It was a spare machine and wasn't used for a couple years. The other gator has about 600 hrs and pump doesn't cycle now at all. This machine sat over the winter and pump was a little growly but worked for a few days and died. I turned pump and plugged back in it rotates but i don't trust it now. I want to make it easier to change so if they fail again i can replace easily on the job. We work on jobs in remote locations.

Has the Gator been stored with low fuel? I read a post from JohnDeereCat1 who is a JD technician that sometimes rust can form on the screen- although you stated they were clean.

Perhaps rust can form within the pick-up tube or inside the pump?

By chance you are using ethanol-free fuel?

Paging @JohnDeereCat1

Yes only use a few month of the year spraying weeds,no rust will try to leave full in off season. Thanks
Got new JD pump it has been changed up. Had to wait 2 weeks for special wiring harness. Filter system way easier to change than original pump. Pump is slightly smaller than the old one.
