Its john deere.
You can buy a winch harness that will go towards the front of the machine.

I would make something myself with a thick wire and save the money though.

Taking a quick cruise through my 865 Tech Manual, there are wiring diagrams and harness diagrams galore for the winch. I always suggest getting one of these things as you'll use it every time you jump into working on it. The 835 version has come down in price a lot. eBay is a good source for the CD.

As CaptSeebee mentioned you should purchase a OEM Technical Manual, there are a gazillion different wiring diagrams with color codes and description of each wiring harness based upon the series and options such as HVAC or non HVAC.

PM me for contact information on a seller of Manuals that I have used in the past.

On edit: I checked eBay and did not see his listing for a 835, however he may have copies in stock that are listed at this time. Nothing clandestine here.

so I got the OEM tech manual, maybe more confused. I find many connections for winch mentioned, "Front winch solenoid", "winch controller", "winch controller power", "Wireless winch ground"

still don't understand how to take my Warn 4500 and it's instructions and connect with what seems to be existing wiring?

does anyone have what deere would publish to install a winch from them?
