Turf gator transmission problems

Hello I've got a turf gator that will not go into or lock into reverse. Any ideas what to do? Thanks in advance!

check to see if the shift cable needs adjusted. .move to forward then rotate secondary clutch see if goes in to gear. Then repeat to reverse. Might be just out of adjustment.

Thanks JD 772. Upon further inspection I believe I've got bigger problems. Looks like a shaft or something has cracked the housing which is protruding out the side of it. Looks like I'll be needing a new transmission. Any ideas which one it is? Any ideas where to find good used? Thanks again!

I have a similar problem on a Turf gator - when I split the transmission case, there was a bearing completely destroyed and as a result the idler gear is destroyed. JD Part prices are ~$250 for the gear BUT I think I found many alternate outlets for the parts by searching the JD alternate trans part number (AM133721-4360) which is also a Dana(Spicer) part number 012AJ347-1. Small Engine Surplus website has a PDF of the Dana parts.... after searching these numbers, it seems bearings, gears and other parts were used in Cub Cadet and fork lift products and have much lower prices than the JD stuff, The Idler gear (AM125016 from Deere or 012GS207X from Dana) is $40 from Intella lift parts. The case (both halves) has part number 012KH107X - good luck searching out the parts you may need.

I have heard there is a gator junk yard in IL somewhere but I have not had any luck finding it... anyone heard of this?
