New to the John Deere family

I had my John Deere XUV560 going on 2 weeks!
I have a aftermarket windshield coming tomorrow, my next purchase will be a winch , i don’t want to pay the over $800 price from John Deere ! Any suggestions on what’s a solid choice on another brand of winch ?

Welcome GatorMike...

Do a price comparison between JD and other Warn winch sellers, I believe you can often beat the dealership pricing on the winch.

Is your Gator prewired for a winch?

SuperATV sells a good quality winch if you are looking at different brands.

You may need a wiring kit, mounting plate, contactor and switch? Im a big fan of the OEM wiring kit because it is built to fit your Gator and not one size fits all.

Welcome, GatorMike, from central PA. I have a very similar machine to yours and I recently added a Warn winch to it. Check out my post and pics here:

I picked up a winch for $40 at a garage sale, probably a harbor freight or the likes. It came complete with cable mount and fairlead. It had a switch wired in-line. Picked up a cheap ($10) set of jumper cables. Cut one set of ends off of the jumper cables and replaced the leads on the winch for more length. Welded the mount to a piece of heavy 2 square tubing. I carry it in a tool box in the bed, if needed I can mount it to the receiver hitch on either front or rear of the machine, flip the passenger seat up and clip it to the terminals on the battery and can control it from the drivers seat.
