It was just the standard John Deere winch mounting kit. Not really sure you need it, but it did make it easier. Of course $150 easier? I'd get your winch and see if it was tho difficult.

The which mount and wiring harness are you referring too? With the older 825i they didnt come pre-wired for winches and really all you need to do is run some wires that come with the winch. Last Winch i put on a gator was a @SuperATV 3500 lb along with their mounting plate. It was super easy to install and the instructions are plain as day. Plus it was a one stop shop.

Thanks marcust90! I can definitely hook some people up with a little discount on a winch and winch mount if needed.

Thanks for the help!

That sounds great, guys. Thanks for the help. I am going to return the mount that I purchased at Harbor Freight as the holes did not line up with my 2011 JD 825i. I purchased a KFI Mount (100860) that seemed to get good reviews and shows is matched up to my UTV. I was going to install a Harbor Freight Badlands winch, but after looking at the compatibility chart for the mount, but if there is a SuperATV Winch that will match up with that mount (https://www.kfiproducts.com/john-dee...nch-mount.html) maybe I'll just buy one of those as they look pretty nice and have positive reviews. The Badlands reviews seem a little hit and miss.

Hey!

The winch mounts should have the same bolt patterns. They're pretty standard industry wide, so you just choose whatever you need... 3500 or 4500, and I'm sure it'll bolt right up to your existing KFI mount. Shoot me a PM if you want to pull the trigger and I'll get you the updated discount code.

Thanks! I pulled the trigger last week and called your customer service line. The customer service rep was super helpful and got me taken care of. I hope to get my new SuperATV 3500 winch this week and will try to post pics of my install after I get it in. Thanks for everything!

Virginiabri - did you purchase the JD Winch Wiring Kit as well, or are you just using what comes with the winch? Thanks. I'm trying to decide if it is worth it to spend the $160 for the JD wiring kit, or just go with what comes with the winch.

Winch Install

Sprechency- I did not purchase the wiring kit from JD at this point and was going to use the wiring diagram and instructions on the SuperATV site. I did purchase the additional dash switch and plan to just wire that up direct with the wireless remote option as well. I will try to post photos and a report as I go through this process early next week.
