Ok from what you pm'ed me the push rod jumped off the valve and now all of a sudden there is blow by through the oil filler cap.
Firstly the pushrods jumping is a fairly common occurance as ive seen it happen on a lot of small engines.
When properly repaired this should not be an issue.
That means the only issue could be either the cause of the problem or the fix of the problem.
I'd say its either a bad seating valve maybe combined with a missing or worn valve seal or there are parts missing like the o-ring on the filler cap.
It is fairly common to have a little pressure and oil flinging out when the cap is not properly on or missing an o-ring.
Dont confuse a little air coming out with blow by too fast
Now the cause of the mislocated rods could be alot of things but it could very well that parts got worn or for some reason the piston slightly hit a valve and caused parts to deform.
Very unlikely but possible especially when the rpm is too high.
I have seen them shift from their locators pins aswell which would be pretty harmless.
Lastly it could just have been poor maintenance.
Just spitballing here as i dont have x-ray internet but i hope it leads you somewhere
That being said i do still think its harmless if the engine is running good
Folks, I know this forum is all about things gator. But maybe someone has experience with a Buck? It's one tough son-of-a-gun and has served me well for MANY years. I've never done anything but change engine oil/filters/batteries. It just goes and goes. But I'm getting concerned about the front...
Wondering what i should look at,i have a shudder on take off in high range . It goes away once the rpm's get up , dose NOT do it in reverse or low range. The clutch was sent to the Doc with 1 mile on it,what else can i look at ? Yes it is under warranty but i think it is something simple, don't...
I’m new to the forum as I have just purchased a 2014 855D at auction and when I turn the ignition on the fuel and temp gauges flash alternatively and won’t show levels. I am assuming this is a fault code and wondering if someone can tell me what may be wrong, appreciate any help...
Hello to all I’m a new guy, just have a question, I just bought a new older model 825 gator 5 days ago, well I really just got to get on it and ride it for the first time yesterday,I mean spend time on it, I’ve decided I’m not a big fan of it at all, my question is am I able to return this to...
I have to re-bleed my gator way to frequently due to high temp light coming on. Finally I saw in the JD manual that there is a special aluminum crush type washer that is on the screw. Mine is missing and probably allowing air to enter. Anybody know the part number for the washer and easy way...
