I have a 2009 620i with only 300 hours on it. I use it primarily for pasture maintenance and fence work. When spraying brush I will be going slow, almost a crawl, stop frequently and spray and then go again. After doing this for about 30 min to an hour the engine will like surge, almost falter, go, surge, falter etc. If I stop what I am doing and run it full tilt for a short time it will work fine at the stop and go for a while and then start up again. When it is doing the surge, falter routine the oil light will go on and off.
Been to the dealer and they are no help. Said to use high octane gas. Did and still doing it. Now suggesting a heavier wgt oil. That doesn't sound right.
Has anybody had this experience and if so how did you fix it. I really need this beast to work.
Thanks for any ideas.

There are 2 sensors on the throttle body that are called Throttle position sensors that control the idle mixture and high end mixture. They can be recalibrated by the dealer and tested to see if one is bad. Also might have to pull the throttle body and have it cleaned.

Thanks

Thank you very much for the input. Will try that out. It sure makes sense. A buddy of mine who owned his own auto repair shop said basically the same thing. Again thank you.:)
