When I start the Gator it idles good, but when I give it fuel and drive it and let off the accelerator it dies everytime. It will start right up but when I drive it or just give it some gas it will die

Did the problem appear suddenly or did it gradually get worse over time?
Has any work been done on the engine or carburetor? If so, I would start by looking at the governor and linkages.
