Looking at 825i Gators, possibly purchasing new depending on how long it takes to find a used one with the exact options I want. What are your thoughts on the OEM John Deere power steering vs the aftermarket kits? I know the John Deere setup gets stiffer as you go faster for better control. However, the JD option is $1100 more, while I regularly see new aftermarket kits for $600, maybe less if there's a forum discount? I never had power steering on the 6x4 I had, and it had front tires that were twice as wide as the 825i. I always felt driving it, but my wife has always preferred PS. I like it too as well, but it's not mandatory for me. I'm thinking the 825i would probably be fine without PS initially if I was to go without it until I bought a kit. But I'd like to know any ones thoughts as to whether or not it's worth it to get the OEM kit instead.

Thanks,

Rick

I put in an aftermarket one been working great for five years. big difference if your going short distance would not go back to manual steering.
