Pushed 4x button, indicating 4x mode but not working. How do I get to the solenoid without dropping front axle?

Solenoid is external to case.

Sprag or what actually engages is internal. Disassembly is needed.

Suggest getting copy of technical manual and/or search the multiple threads on the subject matter. General design is similar between models.

Thx for response, I ask you this though, besides the 4x4 switch, do I have to pull up on differential lever beside fwd Rev lever for 4x4 mode?

Mine engages with switch only.

That is the differential lock lever, for rear end.

To make it clear the 4x4 switch and rear differential lock are independent of each other.

Thanks for the info, guess I just have to figure how to change the solenoid without dismantle the axle to drop

Removing the solenoid is straight forward without disassembly the transaxle.

Suggest checking voltage and solenoid operation before putting too much labor into it.
