No, the engine should not move. It's position needs to be fixed pretty accurately for the belt, clutch system to work properly.
engine motion
Good morning and thank you for allowing me into this forum. I've got a older (1996) I believe, 6x4 with gas Kawaski engine. I noticed when I had the dump bed up , while driving, side to side motion of the engine ( torque flex) . Yesterday while changing the fuel pump, I noticed I can push sideways on the engine in a side to side motion and there is probably 1 inch or so of motion. My question is this normal for the engine mounts, or not ? Thought I'd check here before I jack it up and crawl under to inspect. Ed
