I don't post much new stuff and have always been leery of "miracle" fuel additives. I used Sta-Bil in my generator gas and it just works. I shifted to Seafoam as it has cleaners and works fine. The small Honda jets seem to last longer between blow outs. If you don't have a problem while using it, you don't know if it solved a problem.
Then there's the diesel. Lots of water, green gungies, and grit stories out there. I haven't used anything in my tractor or 855D Turbo and 865R until now. Most additives seem to go after water for sure. Most also go after things that grow. Where Stanadyne stands out is it's "claim" to increase the CETANE rating around 8 points. Unlike OCTANE, CETANE refers to an efficiency aspect vs. energy. OK, I'll give it a whirl. Where I really noticed the improvement was on the turbo. Dieselheads get a feel for when their engines are happy. You can tell quickly if you're fuel or air limited. I get that summer happy throatiness in the winter now. You can feel the push in the torque range. More power? Not really. That happy engine sound when everything is running well? Yes. The tractor which uses the same NV30 Yanmar is certainly a bit more alive when going full bore with the snow blower. Big difference? No, just some in the right direction.
Bottom line, I'll stick with it for a while as I have a gallon of it. It mixes about 1.4 oz per 5 gallons. Filter bowls are clear and red. Life is good.
