I picked up a new oil filter for my 560e and noticed they are different from the last one I bought. This on is made in Brazil and is slightly larger. It has a metal center tube and different can shape at the top. Any reason for the change other than they found a cheaper vendor? If the design is not specific to the machine is there any reason not to run an aftermarket brand to save a buck? They are $11.18 each at my dealer now. It crosses to a Fram that is $3.88 at Walmart

I am not an oil filter snob, but I dont run fram oil filters on anything, Wix my first choice, but just about anything other than fram

There is a wealth of info online regarding the differences between brands of oil filter. Unhitched gave you the condensed version. Go with WIX if in doubt. Cheap filters are no bargain.
