First of all does anyone know if the parking brake on the Gator only engages the rear wheels? If so has anyone come up with a mod that will convert it to a hand brake or at least disable the locking mechanism but still allow it to be locked manually somehow? Don't flame me but in the snow I thoroughly enjoy setting up a Gymkhana style course in my backyard and practicing drifting. With snow the Gator slides really well and once you get it sideways keeping it there can easily be done with power. However if you are going straight and want to do a perfect 90 slide or very controlled 180 slide it would help to be able to initiate the rear brakes to get the slide started. I've ridden dirt bikes for years and this is a very common method to start the slide using braking, then keep the slide under power.

So I doubt many others are looking for the same thing but I thought I would ask the question. A handbrake would be ideal without a locking mechanism and a hole you could put a bolt or pin through. But I'm not sure what that would take to do that conversion. On the other hand if I can do something with the brake pedal that would probably work too.

Place a line lock / roll control solenoid in the front brake line with a button on the steering wheel to activate it. Come in to a corner push button to lockout front brakes and tap brake pedal to apply rear brakes only. Gives much better feel /control than the parking brake and keeps all systems intact. Used this back in my flat track atv racing days but had a solenoid on each front wheel to help drive very deep into a corner and make real fast turns by not appling the brakes on the outside front wheel.

That's a very interesting option, I was hoping for something a little simpler since I'll probably only be doing this in the snow.
