Just bought a new rsx850i & was curious on a stereo. Has anybody mounted a stereo in the dash? I realize it may seem a little crazy to cut a hole in the dash of a brand new gator but I think I would rather have it on the dash than an overhead console. My thought was to put it just above the 4wd dial. Just wondered if anybody else had done this & if so where did you mount speakers or what speakers did you use? Thanks guys

The only thing i have seen on here so far is on an 825i. He used an old Jeep Sound Bar but mounted the head unit BELOW that area. I have an RSX and i want a stereo but i REALLY dont want to cut on that panel. My thought is i am going to install a small amp, 2-4 speakers, and an Aux port/Bluetooth receiver. That way there is no head unit to get wet and have to try and find a place for it.

I would look into one of the universal ssv works speaker systems. I had the one made for the rzr and really liked it. It was loud, waterproof and sounded great. My only complaint was that it did not have bluetooth connectivity which is now an added feature of the newer systems.

I bough 2 6" MCM Audio wake board tower speakers and a pyle amp from amazon for about $150. I installed in about 2 hrs with the help of my 9 yr old son and it sounds great. Its ran off of my iphone listening to Pandora. The amp and most wiring is in the storage box under the hood. Best stereo for the $ in my opinion.

Thanks guys. I have been looking at VDP sound bars & then you can get a deal that just has an auxiliary port on the dash. Think I may go that route so I don't have to cut such a huge hole. Plus I'm only gonna use my phone all the time anyways so need to have the dash unit.
