If nobody replies and you take on the task, please consider doing a small write-up detailing parts and overall process. I bet many will follow your lead.

Shouldn't be too hard to do.

I will do that, but I'm having a hard time finding a tach. The only ones I've found that might work are the digital inductive type that use a coin battery, and I don't know if they work with coil packs. I've ordered one so I'll find out.

Here is the test results before the installation. I'm using grounded coax cable for the signal lead wire because of the length required, and also the ability to just wrap the copper wire around the spark plug wire without using tie wraps. It only reads in 10 r/m increments but close enough for me. It's very accurate, compared it to a photo tach. It's only back-lighted when the engine is running.
