Hi all. We just said goodbye to our XUV 825i with full cab and roll down windows, and welcomed our new XUV 835R. Short story is we absolutely love it! The AC works even better than I had hoped, even in the Kansas summer heat. Very nice not to have dust and dirt blowing in because the windows have to be rolled down to beat the heat. I don’t think I’ve ever had the fan on high-very impressive.

I ordered it loaded, but didn’t order the factory radio; really didn’t think I’d want one since my two previous Gators didn’t have one. Well, this Gator is so nice that music would be nice to have. The price for the factory radios are not inexpensive, and I’m thinking I’d be happy with a Bluetooth and speakers to listen to my own music or stream Pandora from my IPhone.

Anyone out there who has done this? Thanks!

Will do as soon as the cloud cover moves away. We’ve actually got rain here after having almost nothing since June.

By the way, has anyone seen seat covers for the 835r yet? So far, all I’ve seen is for the 835m and 835e models. I had Gilmore seat covers on my last Gators, and with all this rain of late, my dog Duke says he needs them to wipe his dirty paws on when we ride!

That sure looks like those M seat covers should work on the R. Everything I’d seen only showed seat covers fitting the E and M, but not the R. No idea why. Mind letting me know where you found those?

By the way-the color is fine. I’m sure my Bride would prefer some other color, but I can always ask for forgiveness!

I don’t have the 835. I have an 825i with deluxe cab, but I put the John Deere JHD3630BT radio and overhead console on mine. It’s blue tooth and has a place to plug a microphone so that you can talk on the phone hands free. (Pics of it on a thread I started titled My Gator 825i)

Only complaint is it kills the battery quick when listening to music via blue tooth and your machine is off. I’ve been left with a dead battery many times.

Also, because seat covers were mentioned on this thread. I’d like to know where I can get seat covers for my 825i bench seat.

Contact Gilmore’s ATV Seat Covers at tel:888.867.6875

I have a pair on my sport seats in my 825 they wear like iron !! Very high quality

Let me second the Gillmore’s recommendation. I had their seat covers on my last two 825’s with high back bucket seats and on our 825 with bench seat up at our farm. Great fit, and do a super job of protecting the original upholstery.

Unfortunately they don’t yet make them for our new 835 or 865. I’ll be ordering the ones fro JD instead.

I just installed the JD seat covers that Cattleboy referenced. A very nice fit and look to be built to last. Installation only took about 15 minutes including a light cleanup.

This is the part number I had originally found, but at that time JD only showed it fitting the X835/865E & M models. Thanks again to Cattleboy for steering me straight.

We just made an install for a client using a car radio and car speakers.
You can get pods for speakers and a holder for the stereo.

Should be a pretty simple install
We hung it in the glove box of the 855d
Another option would be under the dashboard.
Speakers can be installed behind the seats or from the roof.

It's a bit more involved but having a good stereo might increase value aswell

I have the JD premium audio in my 865R. Bluetooth works fine, although I prefer to stick a mini thumb drive into the USB port which has all the music I care about. SiriusXM, regular radio, and weather work fine. The downside is the JD (made by Jensen) stuff is double priced for what you get. The powered Subwoofer is OK but with the inherent low rumble of the 865R, you really want to lighten up on the bass anyways. The SiriusXM antenna is mounted on the right rear speaker bracket which puts it just under the plastic roof. Works OK. The mic is put in a horizontal slot on the driver side dash.

Hi! I have the 835M and love it!! The trails here are pure talcum powder but I ride quiet and dust free! My awesome stereo is my iphone and an Amazon Alexa portable Tap bluetooth speaker. Fits perfect in the dash cup holder, and I can bring it along the beach with me. Might upgrade to a larger one, but I had this one and it's plenty loud.....and cheap!

I'd sure be interested in hearing more about radio installs. I have a still new-in-the-box Kenwood that I'd like to squeeze in the dash (buy the dash bracket?) and then add some speakers, maybe even front and back. Just looking to hear what has worked for the rest.

You might want to start your own thread with a title that better suits what you're looking for. Might get more responses.

Consider posting pictures of your radio and intended bracket(s) and speaker choices. Most readers are unlikely to look up the model or any other detail, so the more info you provide the better the quality of response is likely to be.
