I'm doing my annual service, usually it just the motor oil, checking both "rears" and visual inspection while on the lift. (Finally got enough snow to install the tracks)
This time I bought the JD homeowner "kit" that included the 3 plugs so ok, I'll throw them in. MAN what a fit it gave me pulling the plug wire and boot out!!
I believe I've almost destroyed all 3 of the boots that seal the top portion and had to resort to a small nail puller pry bar.
Believe me I used plenty of patience twisting, wiggling and pulling by hand for quite a while before I resorted to prying.
Is there a special tool or technique that I needed or should have done?
I have all 3 plugs replaced and I put the high temp copper anti seize on the portion of the boot that seats very f#@%ing tightly into the "tube" at the top.
Just needed to get that off my chest. Change the O/F and pour in the oil and cross my fingers that all 3 are firing.
